The City of Paris continues to develop places and initiatives to explore all facets of contemporary art. Urban art is certainly included in this programme, as demonstrated by an exhibition event taking place this autumn and entitled Capital(s): 60 Years of Urban Art in Paris. Hosted by the Hôtel de Ville (Paris City Hall), it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in aesthetics, conversations on the nature of urban art, and a very enriching creative process. The Hôtel Volney team recommends a visit!
The incredible richness of the exhibition
As you would expect, a major part of Capital(s): 60 Years of Urban Art in Paris consists of exhibiting the works of the greatest street art artists who have used the walls of the capital as their medium of self-expression. From Invader to Banksy, from Jacques Villeglé to Swoon, they are all represented. However, Capital(s) takes it further, by offering two immersive experiences, conferences, screenings, numerous tours outside the walls, and various workshops, including for younger participants. You’ll be able to enjoy the exhibition in your own way and at your own pace!
Fascinating immersive experiences
The two immersive experiences offered at the Hôtel de Ville will undoubtedly be highlights of Capital(s): 60 Years of Urban Art in Paris. The first, conceived by Cristobal Diaz, plunges you into the creative process thanks to an artistic device in real time. This Graff Box is an amazing blend of technology and poetic grace. The second, entitled the Cinquième Mur (Fifth Wall), is the fruit of the imagination of three artists, Kraken, Kashink and Madame who, with the help of augmented reality, invite you on a quest for a hidden room.
During your stay at the Hôtel Volney, discover this amazing exhibition dedicated to urban art. Capital(s): 60 Years of Urban Art in Paris will be held from October 15th, 2022, to February 11th, 2023.
