On May 13th, the European Night of Museums returns. The 19th edition of this fun cultural event offers free admission to all museums from 19:00 until midnight. Concerts, thematic tours, temporary exhibitions and other events are included in the programme, adding to the magic. Enjoy this very special night during your stay at the Hotel Volney Opéra.
A few steps from the hotel
The Hotel Volney Opéra is situated in an elegant and renowned district, a few steps from the Paris Opera and within easy reach of the capital’s finest museums. You can take advantage of this during the Night of the Museums. Why not start with the Musée de la Vie Romantique (Museum of Romantic Life)? As well as exploring the permanent collections and the temporary exhibition devoted to Françoise Pétrovitch, you can attend a concert, a concert-lecture and a lecture-conference. When night falls, head to the Musée de l'Orangerie to admire Monet's Water Lilies in a welcoming and intimate atmosphere.
Exceptional experiences
At the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts), a team of lecturers will be on hand to explain the origins of the works on display and tell you about the artisanship involved in the creation of glass, wood, ceramics, and more. This year, the Petit Palais is offering a major programme of mini concerts, as well as music and drawing workshops that are open to all. Finally, head across the Seine to discover the Musée de l’Ordre de la Libération (Museum of the Order of the Liberation) which, with an immersive theatrical performance, will take you back to the glorious hours of the liberation of Paris.
The events planned for the Night of the Museums are both numerous and diverse. Feel free to ask the Hotel Volney Opéra team for any information you might need. Please note that some activities require a reservation!
